Situated at an altitude of 547 m above sea level, the pretty village of Periana is 50 km from Málaga and 28 km from Torre del Mar on the coast. The views from the village are stunning and take in the mountains and surrounding countryside, Lake Viñuela and the Mediterranean Sea and coastline. Moorish in style, the village has all local amenities as well as the usual array of bars and restaurants. Fertile soil aids the growing of peaches, the main crop of the region, and the peach fair held at the end of August is a popular festival.
